WHY ARE WE HERE?

Seriously, have you thought about that? Is this a cruel joke of the Cosmos? What are you doing in the body that you have - and what is the purpose of your ability to discern between truth and lies? What do these concepts really mean? Why were you born into a world with every chance for advancement and growth and others are born into abject poverty where they live hand to mouth and survival is the most pressing of their concerns?

TELL US PLEASE!

What about souls that are born into handicapped bodies, crippled physcically and mentally - what was the Creator thinking when he made that their lot? Was he thinking at all - or is this the result of a massvie explosion of energy (Big Bang) and this is just how the chips fell? Why are some of us consumed with ideas and thoughts of growth, evolution, and moving forward whilst others cling to dogma and wait for a saviour of some sort to rescue them? Or worse even, not think about these matters at all.

TELL US PLEASE!

The Meadow encourages us all to investigate our own lives. What occupies your mind? Where do you place your attention daily? Can you go deep and really bare your soul? Do you focus on lack or do you see abundance? If we create our own realities then at what point do we assume the role of magnificent creator and look at our interconnected world with new eyes? When do we finally let go of being victim and feel our own power - which is the same power that throbs throughout the Universe?

TELL US PLEASE!

When will we realize that the power that helps our hearts beat is same power that opens the wings of a butterfly as it emerges from its cocoon? When is it time? Perhaps it is now. We hope The Meadow will stimulate those thoughts in the readers and assist them to take appropriate action. Every step we take forward, benefits the entire race. Always.

PUBLICATION AT LAST

It has taken four years to finish The Meadow -- almost three years of writing and more than a year's editing. Now everything has come to fruition. We hope that members will see the book as a great gift to offer to others, especially as Christmas is on its way. This picture shows both hard and soft back versions of the pilot copies.

We have had lots of support from many people along the way. Some acted as early readers of the book and literally watched the story unfold as they read it chapter by chapter. They are as excited as we are - and we are delighted that the book will be available before the Christmas season starts. The Meadow has a message for absolutely everyone.

Don't forget to visit The Meadow Home Page where you will find all the details about the book and its background. There is a lot of information there, including excerpts from the book. And if you have some free time, it will surely keep you busy.

Everything you see on this site will start to fit into place once you have read the book. You will begin to recognize some of the things that have been said and there will be silhouette figures of characters eventually entered here. We have deliberately omitted them in the early stages as they won't relate to anything. However, there is one painting that we would like to share with you which you see above. This was commissioned to celebrate the completion of the novel and depicts the two main root characters of The Meadow and a very special friend. Time will eventually reveal all.

THE PATH YOU TREAD

Each and every human being is on a spiritual path. Most of us don't realize this and we plod on through life wondering what it's all about. Some of us fall by the wayside and become weary with all the struggle and eventually we just give up, settling back into the mundane way of life. But then there are others who continually ask questions. If you're on this site, you have an inquisitive mind and you're curious about life and the meaning thereof.

The purpose of this network is to help bring people together from all walks of life who would like to discover more about themselves. With the help of others who join this site, we are convinced that help in that quarter is just around the corner.

SOME GREAT VIDEOS ON NATIVE AMERICAN MUSIC

The Meadow story is not about the native American society, although there are a couple of chapters that feature previous lives of the main characters which reflect this way of life. However, it is always nice to be associated with such wonderful music that appears to be striking a chord for so many who admire this ancient culture.

MEET THE AUTHORS -- Elfreda Pretorius and Mike O'Hare

A remarkable aspect of The Meadow is that the authors hail from separate continents and for most of their lives knew nothing about each other’s existence. By the time they had completed their mega manuscript they had still not laid eyes on one another and, given their life circumstances and vocations, even a chance meeting was a most unlikely possibility.

And yet, they churned out a novel of more than 500 pages about undying love expressed by two people who met again and again over many centuries and many lives. But the story is about much more than love. It explores the secrets of the Universe, the nature and reason for being, the fabric of society in which we live and grow and the rhyme and reason for life continuing on beyond the trapdoor of death.

Working from two perspectives but a common goal, the authors began to weave the intricate story of The Meadow together through a process that defies description. Along the way, they have learned many wonderful things about themselves, their potential and the purpose of writing this book. The messages within are universal and afford the reader the opportunity to explore his/her own life against the backdrop of the Meadow. We live in an interconnected Universe where self responsibility is the watchword. When we learn that, the possibilities for further growth are endless.
